Classroom Resources

Fidget Tools:

In support of student focus and engagement, a variety of fidget tools are available on a rolling cart within the classroom. Ranging from fidget controllers to poppers, these tools are strategically provided to assist students in maintaining concentration during independent work periods. As part of our classroom expectations, students may temporarily exchange their personal devices for a fidget tool, promoting a balanced approach to classroom engagement.

Cell Phone Charging Station:

To encourage responsible cell phone usage and minimize distractions, a designated charging station is available for students' convenience. This initiative empowers students to regulate their own device usage without punitive measures, fostering a conducive learning environment.

Flexible Seating Options:

Recognizing the diverse learning preferences of students, alternative seating arrangements are provided to optimize their comfort and focus. Options such as wobbly stools, rolling chairs, or floor seating are offered to accommodate individual needs, enhancing overall classroom dynamics.

Audiobook Access:

Inclusive access to audiobooks is facilitated for all students, ensuring equitable learning opportunities. For texts without readily available audiobooks, additional credit incentives are offered to students who opt for alternative formats, such as non-face YouTube videos or MP3 recordings. This initiative supports differentiated learning modalities while incentivizing engagement with course materials.

Digital Resources Integration:

Digital Syllabus:

Ongoing efforts include the integration of a digital syllabus as a central component of the classroom website. This digital resource serves as a comprehensive guide for students throughout the academic year, fostering transparency and accessibility to course expectations and resources.

Digital Library:

A digital library initiative, initiated during the pandemic and collaboratively shared with fellow educators, continues to evolve as a valuable resource for students. This curated collection of digital materials enhances learning opportunities and supports curriculum integration across disciplines.

Digital Notebooks:

To promote student autonomy and facilitate independent learning, digital notebooks are utilized to consolidate daily agenda, learning objectives, lesson content, vocabulary, and class activities. This structured format enables absent students to engage with instructional content at their own pace, fostering continuity in learning experiences.
